Bio
Protagon is based in the Greater Philadelphia area with members in Berks county PA. Protagon delivers high energy theatrical performances blending tight progressive metal riffs with wide dynamic and genre ranges between songs making for an intriguing blend of heavy and ambient flavors with every performance!
Officially formed in May 2023 when our EP: The Gathering Storm was released on all streaming platforms. It was highly acclaimed, and we were asked to perform at the Yuengling Mansion for “Mansion Mayhem 2023” thereafter! Over the years, Protagon has developed a wide range of interactive and performative “lore” that our fanbase has quite the affinity for. Our Tagline #BEAPROTAGONIST perfectly encompasses the vibe of a Protagon show.

When it comes to our line up, we assembled some of the most epic protagonists in all the land to deliver the most kick-ass shows around!
Front Man: Brad “The Bard”
The driving force and creative visionary of the band. He brings his signature headless 7 string guitar which provides the band’s chunky riffs, swooning arpeggios and mind shattering harmonies to every show! In addition to this, he brings a refined and powerful dynamic range in his vocals that deliver a captivating performance time and time again!
Lead Guitar: Isaac “The Prodigy”
The zoomer with the hottest hands on the east side of the Mississippi! Isaac’s been a member since the band’s inception, and has been a major influence on the more technical writing of the band’s music. Isaac’s background in jazz makes him a formidable force on stage especially during songs with harmonized guitar solos with his headless white axe!
Drums: Austin “The Rock”
The one who bottles the chaos of Protagon into a lightning bolt, striking with every kick of the drum! Austin’s affinity for bringing together the technical and logistical components of the band makes the special FX that make Protagon shows so unique!
Irish Penny Whistle/Backup Vocals:
Gideon “El Fuerte! ; One of the oldest musicians in the lore of Protagon’s history. Gideon and Brad were at one time known as the “Blight of The Bards”; a Celtic-Americana duo that evolved its way into the current performing act that is Protagon! He brings a wind instrument performance the likes of which you would struggle to find anywhere else in the world! With piercing melodies and haunting drones that guarantee to give goosebumps to our audiences!
Bass: JUNKMAN! (Yes like the one from CheeseParadeTV)
Brings his intergalactic bass tone and earth shattering bass riffs to the stage for an electrifying performance that is sure to satisfy even the most seasoned bass-heads! His antics on and off the stage are guaranteed to bring the shock and awe that the audience yearns for!
Our original release, The Gathering Storm set the stage for our band’s initial launch-point, but is only a fraction of what you can expect to see at one of our live performances! Our Influences include Opeth, Dropkick Murphy’s, Periphery, Silversun Pickups, and more! We anticipate a release of one of our most highly acclaimed singles “The The Dust You Shall Return” this year! (Check out an acoustic music video for this track on our youtube channel!) The band is currently booking shows in the tristate are of PA, NJ, and NY with plans to release new material this year and collaborate with some of the musicians we’ve allied ourselves with over the last year.
